Measurement NTC thermistors are resistors used for precise temperature measurements. They are made of metal oxides or semiconductors whose resistance changes considerably depending on the temperature.
Measuring with thermistors is indirect - measurement NTC thermistors are characterized by a decrease in resistance as the temperature rises. Knowing the relationship between these two variables, as well as the power separated in the thermistor, makes it possible to calculate the current temperature of a tested centre. The accuracy of the measurement is closely related to the scope of work in which the specific material behaves in accordance with the given characteristics, as well as the tolerance given by the manufacturer, determined on the basis of laboratory tests. Measurement NTC thermistors are widely used in sensors built into electronic temperature measurement systems.
Elements of this type can be mounted in the system in two ways - SMT and THT. The first one uses SMD components. In the case of through-hole technology, we use subassemblies with terminals in the form of binded wires. The TME offer includes both NTC SMD thermistors and NTC THT thermistors.
When selecting measurement NTC thermistors, you should pay particular attention to:
