Choosing the right cable is an important factor that affects the quality of the connection and the data transmission speed. If you want to ensure the reliability of your application, you have to take into account several parameters when selecting a cable, such as the material of the conductor and the external insulation or the type of plug.
Among the wide range of products available on the market, one of the most reliable products are patch cords by HARTING. They are a perfect solution for space-efficient applications, e.g. wiring of control cabinets, small devices, or twisting applications. This is achieved thanks to the compact RJ45 angle connectors, which can be connected in four different positions at 90° to the socket. This feature is clearly demonstrated in the following video:
By choosing cables with RJ45 versatile connectors you can also reduce the number of required products and thus, your overall application costs.
RJ45 connectors are definitely one of the greatest, but not the only advantage of HARTING patch cords. All cables are made of copper, which makes them exceptionally conductive and flexible – they can be easily twisted or bent without causing damage. What is more, the external insulation is made of PUR coating, which improves mechanical strength, resistance to chemicals, oils and fire.
It is also worth mentioning that patch cord connection cables are available in a halogen-free version – they're non-corrosive and don't release toxic substances in the event of fire. Therefore, they are a recommended solution for crowded places and wherever it is important to protect valuable equipment, such as: (urban) railway systems, hospitals, residential buildings, hotels, etc.
Other features of patch cord cables:
- transmission speed of 10Gbit/s,
- Cat.6A, Cat.7 PUR lead,
- S/FTP-type leads,
- operating temperature range – from -5 to 50°C,
- IP20 rating.
