Cloud computing (cloud computing) is a model for delivering IT resources, such as computing power, storage space, databases, applications and other services, over the Internet on demand, in a flexible scaling model and billing based on actual consumption. These resources are made available to users through the virtualisation of server infrastructure and network technologies, eliminating the need to invest in physical data centres and costly on-premises infrastructure.
Cloud computing operates on a tiered model comprising infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and software as a service (SaaS), allowing the level of management to be tailored to the needs of the end user. High availability, scalability, redundancy and the ability to dynamically allocate resources enable the optimisation of business processes and accelerate technological innovation.
Clouds are based on geographically dispersed data centres, protected by energy redundancy, cooling and network connectivity systems, managed using advanced orchestration, automation and security mechanisms. The cloud enables hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, combining private and public resources in a unified operating environment.
In the industrial and scientific context, cloud computing allows the implementation of complex simulations, data analysis Big Data, the development of artificial intelligence applications and the implementation of solutions based on edge computing. However, it requires the implementation of advanced data security strategies, access policies and compliance with legal standards on information protection and privacy.
Transfer Multisort Elektronik (TME) is one of the world’s largest global distributors of electronic components, electrotechnical parts, workshop equipment, and industrial automation. The catalog includes over 1,500,000 products from 1,300 leading manufacturers. TME’s modern logistics centers in Łódź and Rzgów (Poland), with a combined area of over 40,000 m², ship nearly 6,000 packages daily to customers in more than 150 countries.
TME also invests in the development of knowledge and skills of young engineers and electronics enthusiasts through the TME Education project, and supports the tech community by organizing the TechMasterEvent series, promoting innovation and experience exchange.
