Acar was founded in 1990 in Pila. At first, the company was focused on assembling and distributing light sources, lamps, and installation fittings. In 1993, the company started their first serial production (power cords, extenders). A year later, the manufacturing plant along with the company headquarters were moved to Szczecinek. Since 2005, Acar also has an office in Poznan.
