ROHM SEMICONDUCTOR

ROHM Semiconductor is a Japanese manufacturer of semiconductors, initially operating as Toyo Electronics Industry Corporation. With time, this company specialising in manufacturing small-sized electronic components changed its brand name to ROHM, i.e. “R” as in a “resistor” (first ever company’s product) and “OHM” as in the unit of resistance. The company gradually expanded its range by including in it transistors and diodes and, in the 1970s, other semiconductors. ROHM was the first Japanese company to establish a branch in the Silicon Valley to initiate research aimed at integrated circuit development.

ROHM’s products are recognised and appreciated by numerous electronic equipment manufacturers. The TME product catalogue includes universal SMD diodes, protective components, rectifying components, Zener and Schottky diodes (also in the through-hole variant) offered by this ROHM, and also integrated circuits, transistors and LEDs.
