No, a magnet cannot erase data from a memory stick. This is a common myth that stems from confusion between modern storage media and old magnetic recording-based technologies. Pendrives and other flash storage devices are resistant to magnetic fields - even very strong ones.
A flash drive uses what is known as flash memory - an electronic circuit in which data is stored as electrical charges in the gates of transistors. Each memory cell represents information by the presence or absence of a charge. This state is retained without the need for power, making flash memory a type of non-volatile memory. What is important is that flash memory does not use magnetism in any stage of writing or reading data. This means that the magnetic field - whether from a ferrite magnet, neodymium magnet or Solenoids - has no effect on the stored information.
The common belief of "erasing data with a magnet" has its roots in the past, when data storage media based on magnetic recording were widely used. Floppy disks, cassette tapes, VHS tapes or HDDs store information as ordered magnetic domains in a thin ferromagnetic layer. With such media, a strong magnetic field can actually remagnetise the recording layer and lead to irreversible data loss. However, no analogous phenomenon occurs with memory sticks, SD cards, SSDs and modern smartphones** - their data is stored purely electronically and not magnetically.
