Resistance wires are commonly used in electronics labs. This is due to their widespread use - they work well in most applications where you need to transfer high temperature. TME offers iron-chromium-aluminium wires (resistant to high temperatures), with resistance from 0.764 to 19.1 Ω/m. Their operating temperature is between -100 and 1300°C. These values are sufficient for most electronic projects.
Resistance wires are used in various industries. They are often used to make heating elements, which are used, among others, in devices used in the catering industry. Resistance wires are primarily used for the manufacture of air heaters, dryers, or various heaters. FeCrAl wires are also well known among e-cigarette users. Changing the parameters of the device or repairing a burnt-out heater often requires opening the e-cigarette and replacing the factory-fitted resistance wire. The resistance wire is used to heat the e-liquid.
Resistance wires are available in rolls of various lengths. Their most important parameters are resistance and SWG, i.e., their gauge, which determines the maximum amount of current flowing through the wire.
