Yet another Tech Master Event contest has finished.

A little while ago, we announced the winners of two Tech Master Event contests. It did not take long for another competition to end. This time, the participants were asked to design a project which combined computer programming and mechanical engineering in a creative way. Among many submitted projects, there were three that the jury decided to award.

The first winning project was designed by Jovana Jelić from Serbia. Using a 3D printer and an Arduino microcontroller, she created a system which facilitates the handling of microscope slides. Precision was the key element of the device, as even the smallest aberration is of great significance during the examination of samples.

Another awarded project was prepared by Benjamin Felix from Nigeria. He focused on the policemen and soldiers who sustain injuries during counter-terrorism operations. To protect them, he designed a robot called the “War defense bot v1”. For the purposes of this competition, he constructed a miniature version of it with the use of an old CD ROM case. The robot is a platform which moves on caterpillar tracks. It is equipped with an expanded bulletproof shield and cameras, enhancing the user’s field of view without putting them at risk of getting shot.

The third place went to Agnieszka Szczepkowska from Poland. She wanted to construct a device which would ensure that her younger sister took her medication. For this reason, she built an app-controlled pill dispenser. Once filled with pills, the device can distribute a dose of medication once a day for up to 2 weeks.
