DIY projects educate, develop imagination and entertain. This time we show you how to use the ARDUINO MKR WIFI 1010 kit to protect a cookie jar against gourmands. Look how easy it is.

Hardware you need:

Arduino MKR WiFi 1010
Arduino MKR IOT Carrier
Micro USB cable
PIR Senor
PIR Sensor Connection Cable

All are included in the:

Arduino IoT Opla Kit

STEP 1:

Connect the Arduino MKR WIFI 1010 with the Arduino Cloud. Follow the instructions on the Arduino website. Make sure you have the Arduino Create Agent installed.

STEP 2:

Enter your WiFi access data.

STEP 3:

Connect the Arduino to the IoT carrier board. Remember to unplug your device before assembling the carrier. Once the carrier is mounted, plug again your device to the computer.

STEP 4:

Connect the PIR sensor to the carrier. This sensor can detect movement and therefore can detect our cookie thief.

STEP 5:

Configure the dashboard for the security system according to your needs:

STEP 6:

Create a Trigger in the Arduino Cloud.

STEP 7:

Here you can configure the Trigger, for what is supposed to happen when a certain event occurs. In our case we can configure what is supposed to happen when someone is taking a cookie and the movement is detected.

As action we are setting that we want to get a notification to our phone when a movement is detected.
