(117)Threaded joints are widely applied in the industry for the design of machinery and equipment. Suitable mechanical components such as bolts, screws, nuts and washers are used for this purpose. Special screws can be selected to join metal, plastics or wood. Self-tapping and self-forming screws are a popular and economical solution as they do not require additional internal thread cutting. The basic description of the screws includes a thread type (inch, metric) and size. The material of the component and the materials to be joined are also important. The most common screws are galvanized or stainless steel screws with various mechanical strength parameters. It is also worth paying attention to the type of a head and a cut variant, as it determines which tools we will have to use to assemble the joint. It also determines the resistance to high tightening torques.
