HARTING industrial connectors are some of the most robust and best-known solutions that are currently available on the market. Nevertheless, their manufacturer does not cease to introduce innovative products that not only enhance the capabilities of sockets and plugs, but also facilitate the work of technicians.
We would like to present two solutions supplied by HARTING , which have been developed and manufactured with industrial applications in mind, i.e. made to withstand harsh environmental conditions and long-term use. These innovative products have been introduced by HARTING relatively recently – so make sure you get to know Han-Modular® Domino modules and Han® ES Press with PE Press inserts. The former make it possible to develop plugs and sockets that are perfectly tailored to the needs of a wide variety of applications. The inserts featuring the ES Press system, on the other hand, enable quick and tool-free connection of wires. Products from both groups are available from the TME catalogue and ready for immediate shipment.

Han-Modular® Domino
The Han-Modular® Domino solutions have already been described in another article. These are modular inserts for HDC plugs and sockets. Their overriding advantage is that the connector can be assembled in a way that suits the requirements of several applications. The Domino components allow you to implement power, signal, control and even pneumatic connections with the help of a single module. The name of the series derives from the fact that two different square cubes can be incorporated in each module, and therefore each module configured in this way resembles a domino cube. As you can see in the video, the possibilities of combining the modules are almost unlimited (the only constraint is the size of the cable gland used) – they can contain from 1 to 16 pins serving different functions and exhibiting diverse electrical parameters. At the same time, keep in mind that these solutions are compatible with the Han-Modular® series hinged frames.

Han® ES Press with PE Press inserts
The PE conductor is “clicked” into the insert.
The name Han® ES Press with PE Press does not refer to the type of a connector itself, but it describes a tool-free wire connection method. In the TME catalogue, this system is available for the Han® B series solutions and has been applied in inserts that support from 6 to 24 pins (i.e. those where the assembly speed-up will be most noticeable). Contacts with the ES Press connection technology can accommodate conductors from 0.14 mm2 to 2.5 mm2, which translates into voltages up to 500 V and currents up to 16 A. The system is compatible with conductors in the form of strands and solid wires. What’s more, Han® ES Press inserts are designed for the use of jumpers, thanks to which opposite or adjacent contacts can be bridged in an instant.
The ES Press system is extremely simple to use: all you have to do is insert a stripped wire into the chamber and then push down the snap-in lever.
