The Electrical Installation is an assembly of interconnected components, cables, equipment and safety devices that enable the safe and efficient distribution of electricity within a facility, system or utility space. Its main task is to deliver supply voltage to consumption points - such as lighting, plug sockets, technical equipment - in accordance with functional, normative and safety requirements.
The construction of the electrical installation is based on the design definition of the network structure, the selection of the right cables, fittings, distribution and protection systems. Protection against overloads, short circuits, electrocution and overvoltages plays a key role. This includes the use of overcurrent circuit breakers, RCD Circuit Breakers, earthing systems and appropriate circuit separation. The installation should meet reliability and energy efficiency criteria, taking into account the operating conditions as well as the building regulations and technical standards (e.g. PN-HD 60364).
From a utility point of view, the electrical installation can range from low-voltage systems in residential, industrial and commercial buildings to more complex power supply systems for technological equipment, automation or IT networks. Modern installations are increasingly integrating functions for intelligent energy management, consumption monitoring and home and industrial automation. In such a context, bus systems (e.g. KNX), sensors, controllers, and wired and wireless communication are becoming important.
The correct design, construction and maintenance of electrical installations are crucial for the safety of people, the protection of property and the reliable operation of terminal equipment. This requires appropriate qualifications, knowledge of the properties of conductive materials, principles of protection selection and knowledge of current regulations and industry standards.
